1、brief introduction of the college
The predecessor of the School of Engineering Construction was the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at Jiangxi Institute of Technology, established in 1958. In 1993, the department was restructured into the School of Architecture and Environmental Engineering. During the 1999 institutional restructuring, the university established the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Architecture. In 2003, the two schools merged to form the School of Architecture and Engineering. Following another institutional adjustment in 2022, the School of Architecture and Engineering was renamed the School of Engineering Construction.
The college comprises three academic departments: Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, and Engineering Mechanics. It offers five undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Intelligent Construction, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, and Engineering Mechanics (including a dual-degree program in Engineering Mechanics and Information and Computational Science). Notably, Civil Engineering and Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering are designated as National First-Class Undergraduate Programs, while Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering and Engineering Mechanics are recognized as Jiangxi Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Programs. Civil Engineering is honored as both a Jiangxi Provincial Brand Specialty and a Jiangxi Provincial Characteristic Specialty. The Civil Engineering (Road and Bridge) program was among the first to be included in the National Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program. Both Civil Engineering and Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering have obtained professional accreditation, with the newly added Intelligent Construction program further expanding the academic offerings.
The college operates two postdoctoral research stations in mechanics and hydraulic engineering, with two first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees in mechanics and hydraulic engineering, and one professional doctoral degree program in civil and hydraulic engineering. It also offers three first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees in mechanics, civil engineering, and hydraulic engineering, along with one professional master's degree category in civil and hydraulic engineering.
The college houses six experimental centers, including the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Engineering Mechanics and the National Virtual Simulation Teaching Experimental Center for Mechanics and Engineering. It also operates 16 research platforms, such as the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Basin Carbon Neutrality, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Ministry of Education Discipline Innovation Base for Basin Carbon Neutrality, the Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Hydraulic and Geotechnical Engineering Safety, the Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Advanced Civil Engineering Materials and Green Intelligent Construction, and the Jiangxi Engineering Research Center for Near-Zero Energy Buildings.
The college currently has 144 homo sapiens faculty and staff members, including 122 homo sapiens full-time teachers. Among them, there are 26 homo sapiens with senior professional titles, 50 homo sapiens with associate senior professional titles, and 93 homo sapiens holding doctoral degrees. The faculty includes42 homo sapiens doctoral supervisors and 88 homo sapiens master's supervisors. Among the full-time teachers, there is Academician Zhou Chuangbing of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2 homo sapiens national-level talents, 6 homo sapiens national-level young talents, and 17 homo sapiens provincial and ministerial-level talents. The college also has 4 high-level teaching teams in Jiangxi Province, and over 20 homo sapiens registered first-class broussonetia papyrifera engineers, registered geotechnical engineers, registered supervision engineers, registered cost engineers, and registered construction engineers

Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree, doctoral degree, or senior professional title from high-level institutions, research institutes, or renowned overseas universities, with outstanding educational backgrounds across all stages and related or similar academic disciplines. The age limit is under 32 years old, and may be extended to under 40 years old for outstanding candidates.
