一、General situation
1. Hydraulic Engineering
Established in 2023, the Nanchang University Postdoctoral Research Station in Hydraulic Engineering is Jiangxi Province's only such institution, supported by 10 provincial/ministerial-level high-level scientific and educational platforms. The discipline of hydraulic engineering at Nanchang University, which the station is based on, has developed over 80 years and holds the province's sole first-level doctoral degree authorization in hydraulic engineering and a specialized doctoral program in civil and hydraulic engineering. It features a comprehensive talent cultivation system spanning undergraduate, master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels. The station boasts a strong faculty team with cutting-edge research capabilities, including over 20 members supported by high-level talent programs in hydraulic engineering. In the past three years, the team has secured more than 40 high-level research projects, with total funding nearing 80 million yuan. They have published over 400 high-impact academic papers, including 300+ indexed in SCI/EI, and obtained 34 national invention patents. The team has trained over 150 master's and doctoral students, earning 9 provincial/ministerial-level science and technology awards (5 special prizes and 1st prizes), 32 outstanding graduate theses, and over 100 awards for graduate innovation and academic competitions.
2. Mechanics
The Department of Mechanics at Nanchang University, established in 1958, boasts a profound historical legacy and academic heritage. It has been consecutively listed as a key discipline in Jiangxi Province's higher education system and a priority discipline under the "211 Project". The department houses a National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and a National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center for Mechanics and Engineering. With distinctive research strengths in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and engineering mechanics, it demonstrates robust research capabilities and teaching expertise. Through decades of development, the department has built a dynamic research and teaching team centered around innovative talents and distinguished academic leaders, supported by a cohort of mid-career and young scholars. The department has published over 300 academic papers, with more than 200 indexed in SCI, EI, and ISTP databases, and has undertaken over 40 national research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Graduate students are well-prepared for careers in civil service, real estate companies, design institutes, universities, and research institutions.
二、research area
Water Conservancy Engineering: Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, Hydraulic Structures and Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources and Water Environment, Hydraulics and River/Lake Management, Future Infrastructure Engineering and its Interdisciplinary Directions, etc.
Mechanics: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, engineering mechanics, computational mechanics, and interdisciplinary directions in mechanics.
三、Admission criteria and quotas
1. Possess strong scientific research innovation capabilities and team collaboration spirit;
2. Possess good academic ethics and a rigorous scientific attitude, be in good health, and meet the job requirements;
3. Meet the relevant requirements for postdoctoral recruitment at each mobile station;
4. In-service personnel are not admitted, and in-service personnel are encouraged to participate in joint training programs through national postdoctoral research workstations and relevant mobile stations of the university;
5. Applicants with significant scientific research achievements will be given priority.
6. In 2026, five postdoctoral fellows will be recruited each in the fields of hydraulic engineering and mechanics, while four general postdoctoral positions will be available.

All the above papers must be published as the first author or corresponding author. (2) Upon joining the institution, the position involves full-time postdoctoral research at the university, with a contract duration of 2-4 years. (3) It meets the specific business conditions and assessment tasks proposed by the cooperative mentors and research teams. |
Full-time postdoctoral researcher | (1) Within 3 years of obtaining a doctoral degree, the age should generally not exceed 35 years; (2) Upon joining the institution, the postdoctoral researcher will work full-time at the university, with a contract duration typically ranging from 2 to 3 years. |
Jointly trained postdoctoral researcher | (1) Within 3 years of obtaining a doctoral degree, the age should generally not exceed 35 years; (2) Our university collaborates with other institutions (including postdoctoral research stations, postdoctoral innovation bases, and enterprises) to recruit postdoctoral researchers, with contract durations typically ranging from 2 to 3 years. (3) Daily operational expenses (including total postdoctoral compensation and research funding) shall be borne by the joint training institutions, with administrative, organizational, salary, household registration, and archival matters not transferred to Nanchang University. |
四、Compensation and Benefits
1．Compensation and Benefits
Full-time postdoctoral researchers (including foreign postdoctoral researchers) are paid on an annual salary basis, with a comprehensive annual salary (pre-tax, including various national and provincial matching awards and subsidies) ranging from 220,000 to 350,000 yuan (based on statistics from postdoctoral researchers already in the program, averaging around 300,000 yuan per person, with the highest reaching 800,000 yuan). The specific components include:
（1）school benefits
Annual salary and rental subsidy | The annual salary system is implemented. Full-time postdoctoral researchers who rent off-campus housing are entitled to a monthly rental subsidy of 1,000 yuan; those residing in university-owned public rental housing receive a monthly subsidy of 600 yuan. |
mentorship fee | We encourage cooperative mentors to provide living subsidies of 20,000 to 30,000 yuan per year. |
