On the evening of September 28th, the employment mobilization meeting for the 2026 undergraduate graduates of the School of Engineering and Construction was successfully held in Room 244 of Huiyuan Building. Xiong Jingang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, Vice Dean Jiang Shuihua and Vice Dean Liu Weiping, department heads, graduation class counselors, and all 2026 undergraduate graduates attended the conference together. The meeting specially invited Luo Liang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Infrastructure Investment Huazhong Company, and Wu Xiaodong, Manager of the Human Resources Department, to attend the exchange. Shen Song, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute, presided over the meeting.

Dreaming of infrastructure construction, civil engineering is worth it

Luo Liang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Infrastructure Investment Huazhong Company, gave a sincere and wonderful sharing on the theme of "Building Dreams in Infrastructure, Civil Engineering is Worth It" to the students. He combines his own experience of growing from a front-line technician to a business manager, and vividly interprets the contemporary value of infrastructure workers by taking the example of participating in major national projects such as Leishenshan Hospital.

Luo Liang's Career Sharing

He had in-depth discussions with his classmates around the three key words of "confidence, belief, and action": encouraging everyone to "tear off the label of 'civil engineering is not worth it'", rationally view the industry cycle, and firmly believe in the responsibility of central enterprises and the long-term potential of infrastructure development; I hope that students can establish the concept of "double correctness" and deeply root their personal ideals in the vast soil of national construction; From resume preparation to interview skills, he provides a "practical guide" for students on their job search journey, suggesting early preparation and precise positioning to lay a solid foundation for pursuing their ideal positions.

Integrating personal ideals into the vast ocean of national development

In his concluding speech, Xiong Jingang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, thanked the enterprise guests for their sincere sharing and expressed sincere expectations to the graduates around the theme of "early employment, good career". He emphasized that students should seize the opportunities of infrastructure development and establish the concept of "employment first, career choice later"; Reasonably plan for further education and avoid blindly following trends; Cherish the identity of "Double First Class" students and seize the critical period of autumn recruitment.

He specifically pointed out that learning and growth should be closely linked to the cause of the Party and the country, and closely integrated with the needs of society and the people. It should be like a drop of water merging into the vast ocean of national development, realizing the value of life in serving the overall situation.

This mobilization meeting also conducted an analysis of the employment path based on the data of graduates in the past three years, reminding students to rationally view the risks of cross disciplinary postgraduate entrance examinations, seize the opportunities of autumn recruitment, and adopt a pragmatic strategy of "first establish oneself, then leap forward". The entire meeting was rich in content and diverse in perspectives, effectively helping graduates recognize the situation and enhance their confidence. The attending students expressed their willingness to embrace employment challenges with a more proactive attitude, grow through practical work, and move forward through dedication.
