Shanjian Forum | Researcher Cao Jixing from Zhejiang University Delivers an Academic Lecture at Our Institute

On the morning of May 18, Dr. Cao Jixing, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University, was invited to deliver an academic lecture at the School of Engineering and Construction of Nanchang University under the title "Key Technologies for Digital Twin Monitoring, Diagnosis, and Safety Assessment of Complex Structures". The lecture was chaired by Associate Professor Hu Shujun of the school, with over 50 faculty members and students in attendance for thediscussion.

Dr. Cao Jixing has dedicated his research to the field of digital twins. The report outlines the latest advancements in this domain, providing an accessible yet profound explanation of the core principles and practical applications of Bayesian theory. Through the website software he developed, he vividly demonstrated two key implementation scenarios of this technology in typical engineering projects such as high-rise buildings and timber structures. Additionally, he shared insights and reflections from his overseas academic and research experiences, encouraging students to broaden their academic horizons and embrace interdisciplinary innovation.

During the Q&A session, faculty and students actively raised questions regarding model development, technical challenges, and future research directions. Dr. Cao Jixing patiently addressed each inquiry and engaged in in-depth discussions with college faculty on the practical applications of digital twin methodologies in areas such as timber structures and high-rise buildings. The lecture not only showcased Dr. Cao Jixing's cutting-edge research achievements in the field of digital twins, but also provided a high-quality academic exchange platform for the institution's community. Through face-to-face intellectual exchanges, it effectively facilitated the integration of multidisciplinary approaches with traditional civil engineering research, significantly contributing to talent cultivation and scientific breakthroughs in the interdisciplinary field of civil engineering and digital twins.
