Our Institute Hosts Industry-Academia-Research Exchange with Powerchina Guiyang Engineering Corporation Limited

 

On March 11, Academician Zhou Chuangbing and his research team hosted an industry-academia-research exchange meeting in Room B207 of the Construction Engineering Building. They were joined by Wu Shuyu, Deputy Chief Engineer of Guiyang Engineering Corporation Limited (Powerchina Guiyang). The event was chaired by Vice Dean Professor Jiang Shuihua, with Executive Dean Professor Li Huokun and Professors Huang Jinsong, Yao Chi, Yang Jianhua, and Meng Jingjing in attendance.

During the meeting, Academician Zhou Chuangbing delivered a welcome speech, introducing the attendees and providing an overview of the “Hydrotechnical Rock Mechanics and Reservoir Dam Safety” research team. He also outlined five key development directions for the water conservancy industry. Deputy Chief Engineer Wu Shuyu addressed the gathering, detailing the operational framework of Powerchina Guiyang, its research service requirements, and the challenges of industrial transformation, highlighting the corporation's commitment to university-industry collaboration, technological innovation, and industrial integration.

The technical session featured a report by Professor Xie Jiawei titled “3D Geological Digital Modeling and Multi-source Data Fusion Technology,” showcasing the team’s latest breakthroughs. Senior Engineers Chen Guangyao and Lü Shengcai from Powerchina Guiyang shared their achievements in digital surveying and industrial software development, along with their future strategic plans and specific needs.

The ensuing in-depth discussions fostered a dynamic and productive atmosphere, resulting in a consensus on collaborative directions, joint technical breakthroughs, talent development, and academic exchanges. This conference significantly advanced the application of 3D geological modeling and digital surveying technologies at our institute, marking a new milestone in the strategic partnership between the two organizations.

Looking ahead, our institute will continue to deepen strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Powerchina Guiyang. By promoting joint research, technology transfer, and talent development, we aim to address core challenges in the construction and operation of national infrastructure projects, thereby enhancing the core competitiveness of both parties.
