Jiangxi Province Nearly Zero Energy Building Engineering Research Center

The Jiangxi Province Nearly Zero Energy Building Engineering Research Center is a provincial-level scientific research platform approved by the Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission in 2017. It is based at the School of Infrastructure Engineering, Nanchang University . In 2025, it was renamed the Jiangxi Province Nearly Zero Energy Building Industry Technology Engineering Center.

The Center occupies a research area of approximately 12,400 square meters and is equipped with facilities valued at around 50.18 million RMB, providing comprehensive experimental and testing capabilities for key technologies related to nearly zero energy buildings and building industrialization. Currently, it employs 30 core R&D members, all holding doctoral degrees, including 6 with senior professional titles, 11 with associate senior professional titles, and 13 with intermediate professional titles.

Rooted in Jiangxi and serving the nation, the Center focuses on several key research areas: green building materials and applications, construction technologies and applications for nearly zero energy buildings, new prefabricated structural systems and construction techniques, strategies for creating healthy and comfortable indoor environments, and post-occupancy evaluation of nearly zero energy buildings. It is dedicated to overcoming critical technical bottlenecks in the industry and addressing core challenges in the field of nearly zero energy buildings within Jiangxi Province. The Center aims to achieve major technological breakthroughs, continuously strengthen the transformation of scientific research achievements and industrial collaboration, thereby strengthening Jiangxi Province's competitiveness and social influence in the fields of green building and nearly zero energy building sectors. It strives to reach international advanced and domestic leading levels in related research directions.

Over the past five years, center members have received 7 provincial and ministerial awards, including the Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award, and the Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. They have undertaken 23 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with total research grants exceeding 40 million RMB. The team has published over 200 research papers, including more than 120 SCI-indexed articles, secured over 90 invention patents, participated in the formulation of 5 local standards, and trained more than 130 postgraduate students. The Center has made significant contributions to promoting the green, low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of the construction industry in Jiangxi Province and enjoys broad recognition within the industry.
