The Green and Advanced Building Materials and Technology Research Center is a university-level research institute established within the School of Infrastructure Engineering at Nanchang University, with foundational support from the Civil Engineering discipline. Centered on frontier advancements in building materials and closely aligned with national strategic objectives and regional industrial demands, the Center is dedicated to the research and practical application of high-performance, sustainable, intelligent, and multi-functional building materials. Our research is organized around four key thematic areas: high-performance building materials and technologies, advanced building materials and technologies, green building materials and technologies, and rapid repair and rehabilitation materials and technologies. We drive systematical innovation in the field through integrated approaches encompassing material composition design, fundamental theoretical inquiry, optimization of synthesis and fabrication processes, evaluation of technical performance, and promotion of engineering applications.

The Center fosters robust interdisciplinary collaboration, leveraging expertise across civil engineering materials, bridge and tunnel engineering, and geotechnical engineering to advance the integrated development of materials, structures, and engineering. Our team comprises 7 core researchers, including 3 professors, 2 associate professors, and 2 lecturers. Among them, 2 researchers are recognized as Leading Academic and Technical Talents in key disciplines of Jiangxi Province, forming a well-structured and highly innovative research group.

In recent years, the Center has secured over 10 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial ministries, and industry partners, with cumulative funding exceeding 8 million RMB. We have published more than 150 high-quality academic papers, over 100 of which are indexed in SCI/EI databases, and have been honored with several provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards. These achievements underscore our robust research capabilities and strong potential for continued growth. Dedicated to facilitating the transformation, upgrading, and sustainable development of Jiangxi's building materials industry, the Center prioritizes technological breakthroughs in areas such as the resource utilization of industrial solid wastes (e.g., lithium slag) and the innovation of green, low-carbon building materials. Our work aims to provide vital scientific and technological support for fostering high-quality economic and social development in the region.
