The Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics

The Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Nanchang University was officially established in May 2022, building upon the university’s long-standing strengths in mechanics and Jiangxi province’s solid foundation in aircraft manufacturing. 

The institute is equipped with comprehensive experimental platforms, including systems for testing the mechanical properties of materials, large-scale structural testing and analysis, as well as numerical computation and simulation. Our laboratories house a wide range of advanced instruments, including a micro–nano in-situ CT imaging system, thermal fatigue testing machines, vibration tables, infrared non-destructive testing equipment, and high-performance parallel computing servers. 

The Institute currently operates the Center for Nondestructive Testing of Aeronautical Materials, High-Speed Impact Testing Center (under preparation), and Numerical Simulation Center for Nonlinear Dynamics of Composite Materials. We maintain long-term collaborative partnerships with domestic and international universities specializing in aeronautics and astronautics, as well as with aircraft and spacecraft manufacturing enterprises and research institutes.
