The Global Top 2% Scientists List comprises two major categories. The "Lifetime Scientific Impact Ranking" evaluates scientists' comprehensive academic performance throughout their careers, while the "Annual Scientific Impact Ranking" focuses on their academic output and influence during the previous year. Based on the Scopus database, the list assesses nearly 7 million scientists globally using quantitative metrics such as total citations, h-index, hm-index (h-index adjusted for co-authorship), and citations as sole/first authors. This comprehensive evaluation covers the quantity, quality, and collaborative impact of scientific contributions, ultimately identifying the top 2% of outstanding scholars in each discipline. Since its inception, this ranking has been widely recognized as one of the key indicators for measuring research impact.
