The " Highly Cited Scientists" list is selected annually and updated based on an 11-year rolling cycle. It is produced by bibliometric experts and data scientists from the Clarivate Analytics Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), who conduct rigorous evaluations and selections based on citation data from the Web of Science core collection and qualitative analysis results. In the 2025 selection, a total of 6,868 scientists from over 1,300 institutions across 60 countries and regions (7,131 entries in total) were selected. Scientists from mainland China performed outstandingly, with 1,406 entries (20% of the total), ranking second globally in terms of selection scale and achieving further growth compared to the previous year. This year, four scholars from Nanchang University were listed on the ranking.
